The SACCSS Open Tennis Tournament was played on Tuesday 1st March 2022 at Hume Tennis Centre in Craigieburn.
Melbourne’s weather was not working in our favour, but all the participation schools managed to pitch in and dry off the 14 courts to commence the tournament at 9:30am.
All courts were a buzz with skills and prowess….
Until 10:45am when the rain set in!
Play was suspended for 40 minutes, until the showers passed and the courts could be mopped again.
Play resumed at 12:15pm.
At 1:35pm when the rain settled in for a second time, play was abandoned for the day.
Girls Singles, Girls Doubles A & B as well as Mixed Doubles
and Boys Doubles B had all completed their Round Robin matches and were set to take the court for Finals Matches.
Boys Singles and Boys Doubles A were not yet complete when the day was abandoned.
No Finals or awards were played/ presented on Tuesday 1st March 2022.
The SACCSS Heads of Sport group will meet to discuss the finalization of the tournament in the coming week.
