This year the SACCSS Badminton Tournament will be held over 3 days, to allow for more participation from our member colleges.
Monday 13th May 2024 was the Open Tournament, with students from 12 of our 15 member colleges competing at Eagle Stadium in Badminton Doubles.
This massive double Badminton tournament saw approximately 250 matches played across 28 Badminton courts in a Round Robin Competition.
The Tournament was separated into 4 skill categories per gender:
– Open Boys A, B, C, D
– Open Girls A, B, C, D
The competitors were exceptional in their skill and conduct over the day.
Thanks to the staff and student helpers from Thomas Carr College and MacKillop College who assisted with the convening of the day –
without them, the day would not have run as smoothly.
Once each team played all others in their pool – scores were collated and teams ranked.
Teams finishing 1st or 2nd in their pool, went on to compete in a Cross Over Semi Final – with the victors going onto the Grand Finals at 1:40pm.
